Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare of Pupils Committee
This Committee looks carefully at the learning behaviours of pupils throughout the school day. It examines the systems and polices we have in place to promote good learning attitudes. At Woodside we work within the ethos that we must develop independent learners with a ‘thirst’ for knowledge. During monitoring visits, the governors link with our Learning Council to observe attitudes to learning.
Our Learning Council monitors learning behaviours across the school on a monthly basis. The council collects evidence of pupils’ attitudes to learning and is integral to developing a revised academy approach to engaging pupils in their daily lessons. The Committee reports to two key governors and this information is used to triangulate judgements about learning behaviour at Woodside.
The Committee also rigorously monitors our excellent safeguarding procedures. We have half termly visits from our Chair of Governors to review our systems and structures to ensure we maintain our high standards of care for our pupils.
